Malbec
The growth of high-quality grapes depends largely on the climate, and our aim was to identify the ideal grape variety that would thrive in our distinctive microclimate. After consultation and thoughtful evaluation, we concluded that cultivating Malbec would be the most suitable choice. Malbec is a variety that can flourish in hot summer days and cool nights, with the potential to ripen fully by early fall.
In The Vineyard
Our Malbec grapes are cultivated using regenerative agriculture techniques that prioritize soil health and fostering biodiversity. By incorporating clover cover crops, we enrich the soil with nitrogen and organic matter while also preventing erosion. Vineyard pests are kept in check by beneficial insects, birds, and sometimes even foxes. Our eco-friendly farming practices yield luscious grape clusters that form the foundation of our exceptional wines.

Wine Growing
At Tumult Wines, winemaking begins in the vineyard—what we call wine growing. We practice regenerative agriculture, focusing on soil health, cover crops, water conservation, and pollution prevention. By avoiding tilling and pesticides, we cultivate in harmony with nature, restoring the land for future generations and producing grapes that reflect the purity of our environment.
Harvest
Every grape is handpicked at peak ripeness, guided by perfect Brix and acid levels. Alongside Cesar and his skilled team, we harvest our 3,430 vines under the cool night sky, ensuring optimal freshness and flavor from vine to bottle.
Grape Crush
After harvest, our grapes head to a custom crush facility. For our crisp rosé, and delicate Viognier the juice is gently pressed and quickly transferred to stainless steel tanks. For our bold Malbec, the juice ferments with the skins, extracting deep color, rich flavors, and robust tannins.
Fermentation
Fermentation transforms grape juice into wine. Our rosé and Viognier ferment without skins for a light, refreshing character, while our Malbec ferments with skins, intensifying its structure and depth. After primary fermentation, our Malbec undergoes malolactic fermentation, softening acidity and enhancing its velvety texture.
Aging & Bottling
Our rosé and Viognier are bottled after 4–6 months, preserving their fresh, vibrant profiles. Our Malbec, however, matures for two years in new and neutral oak barrels, developing complexity and depth. Once bottled, it’s ready to be savored—each sip a testament to time, care, and craftsmanship.
